Quark 2.0: The Metamorphosis of the Conference Centre Reshaping the MICE Industry in Milan
Quark 2.0 was born from precisely this awareness: a repositioning project and far-reaching transformation that redefines the very concept of a conference centre in Milan, while guiding Quark Hotel through a process of structural, technological and cultural change. It represents a true evolution of identity within the MICE world, positioning the venue as a next-generation Innovation & Experience Hub.
AN IMMERSIVE HUB FOR FUTURE-FOCUSED EVENTS
With the Quark 2.0 revolution, the conference centre merges with the concept of an Immersive Hub, designed for companies, brands, content creators and communities that expect more than just a venue. Here, it is as if the space itself takes part in the meeting: adapting, transforming and reinventing itself. This shift is made possible by a new architectural concept created by EvaStomper, which interprets the event as a modular, fluid and highly technological experience, capable of meeting the demands of corporate formats, product launches, conventions and hybrid productions.
THE TRANSFORMATIONAL CORE OF THE PROJECT: OUR EVENT SPACES
At the heart of the project lies the concept of the modular black box, embodied by Scorpio Hall. A technical, neutral and transformative amphitheatre designed to offer maximum scenic freedom and able to host up to 560 guests. A suspended 360° LED ring creates a powerful sensory and visual experience, supported by three integrated concentric rings for audio, video and lighting systems, enabling rapid set-ups and dynamic staging. Expo Plenary Hall has been completely redesigned and stands out for its exceptional scale, with 1,450 square metres of space and capacity for up to 1,250 people. Conceived for large-scale events, Expo is a strategic stage for product launches in Milan, ideal for keynotes, conventions and multisensory formats requiring a strong visual dimension. The Projection Room has been developed for immersive formats, high-impact presentations and engaging visual content. This ready-to-use space integrates advanced projection, lighting control and blackout functionality, making it ideal for alternative plenary sessions, creative kick-offs, brand storytelling and experiential training moments. Projection immediately expands the conference centre’s offering, allowing companies to design dynamic and modular events without lengthy activation times or complex set-up requirements. More intimate yet equally high-performing is Quasar, a new space designed for corporate talks and training. Equipped with a 100-inch screen, it has been shaped for executive meetings, highly focused presentations and premium content experiences for up to 250 attendees.
The end result is an experience “designed to amaze”, a new conference language in which flexibility and wow factor are supported by advanced AVL infrastructure. Among the most noteworthy features is the scalable Dante audio system, integrated with video backend and sophisticated lighting control, transforming the conference centre and its modular meeting rooms into a business cluster suited to every expressive format.
TOWARDS THE FUTURE: SHARED SPACES AND NEW CONCEPTS
Unconventional in every convenient way, Quark 2.0 will unveil two further multimedia-focused areas in 2026: the Gaming Room and the Sound Room. The Gaming Room combines digital entertainment with meeting culture in a hybrid leisure/MICE set-up: ideal for themed breaks, informal moments, digital team building, corporate tournaments and branded formats. Facilities include next-generation workstations and consoles, 4K/144Hz monitors, modular ergonomic seating, clean-design cabling and an enhanced low-latency network infrastructure capable of supporting competitive online play. The Sound Room, meanwhile, offers a high-definition production and recording experience through a dedicated technical environment equipped with 3D/binaural audio technology, certified sound-absorbing panelling, a digital mixer and broadcast microphones, along with a mini-set for recordings, interviews, voice-overs, branded audio content and podcast production.
In short, Quark 2.0 brings to life the ambitious vision of transforming Quark Hotel Milan into a leading digital hub within the city’s events landscape. A place where innovation, creativity and responsibility come together. This metamorphosis is in fact guided by an ESG Strategic Development Plan: the DCA ESG Certification, issued by Dream&Charme as an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited body, further strengthens Quark’s positioning as a venue shaped by a responsible vision for both corporate and public events.
QUARK 2.0 ALSO STRENGTHENS ITS ESG POSITIONING
The retention of the DCA ESG Certification this year marks a significant step forward compared with the previous edition, with the assessment perimeter extended to include an additional pillar. Structured around the Environment, Social and Governance pillars and issued by Dream&Charme in its capacity as an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited certification body, the certification confirms an ongoing path of continuous improvement in the responsible management of activities and events. This recognition helps consolidate Quark as a benchmark venue for corporate and public events that place sustainability high on the agenda, highlighting a structured, progressive and measurable commitment.
From this perspective, Quark interprets the evolution of the MICE industry in Milan as a model that integrates technological innovation, immersive experience, operational flexibility and responsibility.
